ABOUT ME

Á
gatha began her musical journey at the age of 10, when she started playing the violin and soon, at the age of 14, joined the Petrobras Sinfônica Youth Academy in Rio de Janeiro. At the age of 16, she started her studies at Unirio (Federal State University of Rio), where she graduated in composition in 2021. In 2016, together with other aspiring talents, she initiated the Camerata de Esquina, a group dedicated to playing and researching Brazilian music. During her time with Camerata, she won two prizes at the II Unirio Chamber Music Competition (best group and best chamber musician), 3rd place at the 56th Villa-Lobos Chamber Music Competition, in addition to having played at festivals in southern Brazil, Canada and, as a soloist, in France. In 2019, she attended an exchange year at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna, studying composition, as well as conducting, chamber music and violin. At present, Ágatha is pursuing her Master's Degree in Composition for Audiovisual Media at the Centro Superior Katarina Gurska in Madrid (2024-25).
Since 2021, she works as an arranger for different groups and orchestras. Among others, she arranged for the TV Show Encontros Orquestrados and furthermore collaborated with renowned Brazilian artists and orchestras such as Claudia Leitte, Di Ferrero, Roberta Campos, Danilo Cutrim, Nova Orquestra, Academia Jovem Concertante, Academia Juvenil da Petrobras Sinfônica and Rodrigo Torrero. One of her recent highlights was collaborating with Brazilian rockstar Pitty, for whom she arranged for orchestra and rock band (and an audience of 120 thousand people).
As a composer, her portfolio includes works premiered in Vienna, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. In October 2022, her “Five Bagatelas for String Quartet” was performed at the XXX Panorama de Música Brasileira Atual, an event that brings together the main names of the new Brazilian contemporary music scene. Currently, her work focuses, among other projects, on Composition for Audiovisuals (Movies, Series, Documentaries as well as Video games), as she is striving to broaden her artistic and technical horizon.
